Project Bookshelf at Anoka County Library

Sharing the fun and magic of books and reading with needy children in Anoka County is a great way to celebrate the winter holidays!  Your donations of new, unwrapped books for children and young adults should be brought to any Anoka County Library, the Anoka County History Center or the Columbia Heights Public Library November 1 through November 30, 2012.

Donations to Project Bookshelf will be accepted at all Anoka County Library and Columbia Heights Public Library locations throughout the entire month of November. Project Bookshelf has been an annual library project since the 1980s.

“The joy of reading is a lifelong gift,” said Anoka County Commissioner and Library liaison Jim Kordiak.  “Sharing that gift with a child in need is a gift that makes an impression for life.”

Owning books can help a child learn to enjoy reading and find success later in life!  Help make this possible by participating in Project Bookshelf.  Books collected will be given to Anoka County food shelves, including ACBC, CEAP, Centennial Community Food Shelf, NACE and SACA for distribution to kids in need.
