Live at the Library presents The Tarveys at Northtown Library, Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 pm. This program is free and open to the public, but seating may be limited.
Join The Tarveys for Rural Farm Songs of the Midwest, a collection of original songs about farming and small town life in the Midwest. The music is a testament to Minnesota’s cultural heritage, describing the people who work and live on the land. This music will connect you to Minnesota’s history, heritage, and community.
“As a long time music teacher, I know that music has always been a ‘sign of the times’” said Anoka County Commissioner Carol LeDoux. “This is a great way to get the rhythm of a point in our history.”
“If we did not grow up on a farm ourselves, many of us have parents or grandparents who did,” said Library Board President Bob Thistle. “Enjoy songs that explore the hard work and simple pleasures of life on the farm.”
The Tarveys are presented in partnership with MELSA, and the program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Northtown Library is located at 711 County Road 10 in Blaine. For more information call 763-717-3267.
